Can Toyota make popular the mini-van with Prius-like styling and technology again?

The 2011 Prius hybrid mini-van is the latest rumored vehicle to accompany Toyota’s developing Prius family. While nothing about the mini-van is official, the vehicle will supposedly share some of the attributes that have made the Prius such a success, retaining the hybrid technology and innovative style of its derivative. With its Prius-based style and technology, the mini-van would not only broaden target markets for Newark new Toyota dealers, but may very well reinvent the commonly held eminence associated with the mini-van. … Continue Reading

Multi-Terrain Selector on new 4-Runners mean it is one SUV ready for adventure

The Toyota Forerunner is new and improved!  The 2010 model at your Staten Island new Toyota dealership has a lot of cool features for the rugged driver craving some off-road adventure.

I recently had a chance to test drive one and let’s just say I had a great time.  A Friday afternoon well spent!  The Forerunner comes in three different models: SR5, Trail and Limited.  I drove the Trail.  I found it to drive very smooth and evenly, even on the off beaten path!  This model has several features that help it do well off road.  One is the Crawl Control.  What this does is help the Toyota car dealers NJ truck brake going up or down a hill and modulates the throttle automatically.

The Forerunner also has special tires that are designed for that perfect off-road experience.  The upholstery is waterproof, which came in handy!  Another feature that helped me keep my eye on the trail were the audio controls on the steering wheel.  I am a frequent channel changer and this has gotten me a few close calls in cars that do not have this feature!

For an SUV that is used off road by many of it’s loyal drivers, it also did well on the traditional highway.  The Trail model has a V6 engine that delivers 270 HP.  Very impressive!  Another attribute is the large cargo space- perfect for transporting your child to college, friends to the movies, and so on!  This Staten Island new Toyota SUV really is great and worth checking out!

A feature that makes the 2010 Forerunner really stand out is the Multi-Terrain Selector.  This feature will most likely be found on the 2011 Toyota NJ model that is scheduled to come out in Fall 2010.   Instead of writing about this nifty gadget, I found a video that I feel does more justice in describing it to you.

Toyota 4Runner plays it safe and is ready for adventure

Toyota 4Runner plays it safe and is ready for adventure

There are two things I look for in a vehicle. One, I must be able to enjoy my outdoor adventures, so I need a vehicle that can take me to those remote trailheads and beyond. Secondly, I need a vehicle that will get me to the 0ff-road part of my journey safely while on the pavement and keep me safe while working my way through terrain.

Fortunately for me and all those other outdoor adventurers, the new Toyota 4Runner fits this description. After test-driving one at my Staten Island new Toyota dealer, I was sold. The 2010 Toyota NJ 4Runner I test drove provided the same excellent high ground clearance the model has been known for, a must for an off-road vehicle. … Continue Reading

New Jersey Toyota News: Celica, Is that You?

New Jersey Toyota News: Celica, Is that You?

Though it’s a few years in the future, it’s something to get excited about. On October 21st, Toyota debuted its FT 86 concept car in Tokyo’s auto show. This fiery red coupe, whose production is actually a compilation of both the work of Toyota and Subaru but brands the Toyota badge, impressed all who viewed it. However, it’s definite people can’t get too comfortable referring to it as the Toyota FT (future Toyota) 86, as it’s official name will be decided in the next year or so. … Continue Reading
